Communities for Climate Compensation

We are a growing movement of communities who want to see big coal and gas corporations pay their fair share for the cost of their climate pollution.

No matter your background or postcode, we all want to live in safe and thriving communities. When unnatural disasters hit, we’ve seen neighbours from every walk of life come together to clean up and look after one another.

Most of us believe in a fair go – that if you make a mess, you should clean it up. But right now our communities are cleaning up a mess we didn’t create. Big coal and gas corporations are making billions while our communities pay the price with soaring insurance premiums, damaged infrastructure, and disaster clean-up costs.  

We’re proud of our communities – but “resilience” shouldn’t mean being left holding the bill while polluting coal and gas corporations make off with record profits. 

That's why we're calling for a Climate Compensation Fund, paid for by big polluters, so our communities – from the suburbs, to the bush, to the Torres Strait – have what they need to keep safe and thrive.
