Bring ETSA back into public ownership!
Dear Premier
Our energy market in South Australia is in crisis. A handful of big corporations have driven up prices and slowed down progress towards renewables, putting profits ahead of people. The SA Government provides tax breaks to fossil fuel companies and is not intending to phase out gas.

Since the Electricity Trust of South Australia (ETSA) was privatised in 1999, households have been paying more for gas and electricity prices, whereas when the system is publicly owned it exists for everyone’s benefit, not for the benefit of shareholders.
Electricity should be regarded as an essential service, not a commodity for corporate gain. South Australians are paying the highest energy prices in Australia, so it is time to return ETSA to public ownership, and ensure affordable, sustainable power for everyone.
Why is this important?
We need to tackle the climate crisis and make affordable, sustainable energy available to everyone.
