Letter writing workshop - Communities for Climate Compensation

Most of us can imagine a world that is fairer, more secure, and more just — where communities aren’t left carrying the costs while large corporations continue to profit.

That’s why the Make Big Polluters Pay campaign and the notion of a Climate Compensation Fund is resonating so strongly with people across the country. Australians can see the imbalance, and many believe it’s time for fossil fuel corporations to contribute their fair share towards the growing costs of climate change impacts.

Real change will take bold ideas, strong community voices, and people willing to speak up. One of the first steps is helping shape the public conversation.

Join us for a Letter Writing Workshop, where we’ll explore personal narrative and creative writing techniques to help you craft:
✍️ Letters to the Editor
🏛️ Letters to Councillors and MPs

We’ll practice how to communicate clearly, persuasively, and authentically, turning lived experience into powerful advocacy.

📣 Letters to the Editor:
Help bring community perspectives into local conversations and ensure everyday voices are represented in public debate.

🏛️ Letters to Councillors and MPs:
Personal letters are one of the most effective ways to connect decision-makers with the real experiences and concerns of their communities. They are a powerful exercise in democratic participation and can help build momentum for meaningful action.

This workshop will provide practical tools, inspiration, and a supportive space to build confidence and community.
