No New Fossil Fuels.
In a time of intensifying climate crisis the global experts agree. The main cause of global heating is the burning of coal oil and gas and that we urgently need to stop opening up new reserves. We call upon the Federal Government and especially the Environment minister Murray Watt who earlier this year approved the massive NW Shelf gas project for Woodside to stop approving new fossil fuel projects.
Why is this important?
We are now very close to having global heating of 1.5C and are seeing daily the disastrous consequences. These are being felt first by indigenous communities and the poorest countries who lack resources to protect themselves and have had the least input to global CO2 emmissions. The urgency of cutting emmissions cannot be understated.
